Family Portrait Session in the Forrest - Northern Nevada - Gretchen Leigh Photography

Hi again, everyone!

Let me stop for a second to tell you that I am seriously the luckiest photographer in the world. My clients are always so magnificent to work with. That's true of my session with the Colato family, too!

I met up with them at a remote grove of pine trees and the weather was actually not-so-perfect for photo-taking. Intermittent rain had us all worried that we'd have to cancel their session, but we braved it and it turned out perfectly! There were a few moments of drops, but we just played in the rain for a few minutes and it just added to the fun of the day :) While the weather was iffy, it was the Colato family that made this shoot such a success.

The Colato family consists of Scott, one of the most hands-on dad's you will find, Ali, who loves her babies and wish they never had to grow up, Jared, who loves Thomas the Train, and Jake, who thinks he is Superman :)

“Our favorite family activity is letting the kids play outside.  It’s important for us to have our kids using their imaginations and exploring the outdoors.  We turn off the TV often and play.” says Ali.

As you can see from the comments above and the photos below, this family is not only photogenic, but also a close-knit group who clearly love spending time together. They are lucky to have each other.

It truly was an amazing photo shoot. And if any of you are considering a family session or are prepping for an upcoming session, Ali has a few words of advice:

"Forget the photographer is there and just be a family.  She will just capture it.  Perfectly.” she says. Thank you for the kind words, and that's good advice!

Okay, on to pictures of the Colato family! Enjoy!
